    • What is SmartCite®?

      SmartCite® is a proprietary feature allowing you to highlight a section of text and find suitable supporting references/citations from peer-reviewed published manuscripts to attribute to the text. Each citation/reference added to the text is automatically added to the reference list of your document.

    • Can PAIPERS actually write my entire thesis for me?

      We could have built a product like that, but we thought it would be better to keep humans in control. So instead, we built a product that combines the strengths of artificial and human intelligence - the best of both worlds!

    • Does PAIPERS plagiarise other content?

      No, PAIPERS does not plagiarise other content. It uses large language models, which do not copy and paste from existing sources. Instead, these models generate new content by predicting the most appropriate words or phrases based on the patterns they have learned from vast amounts of text during training. This predictive nature ensures that the content created is original and not a reproduction of any specific source.

    • Why can't I just use ChatGPT or Gemini to add citations?

      In short, because they often provide completely made-up references.     • What should I do if I'm having difficulties signing up or logging in?

      If you're having difficulties signing up or logging in, or if there is any kind of strange or unexpected behaviour when using PAIPERS then try deleting your browser history, cookies, and cache. If this does not solve the issue then get in touch at [email protected].

    • Is using PAIPERS considered academic/professional misconduct?

      Only if the specific context in which you are using PAIPERS prohibits the use of AI assistance. Otherwise, it’s simply a powerful tool to enhance your productivity. A bit like using a calculator to help you with maths!

    • What if I'm not getting accurate references with SmartCite®?

      If you think that the references being suggested are not as accurate as they could be then try the following: 1) re-run the search, 2) shorten the section of text for which you are trying to find a reference, 3) take the key words from the section of text and use those to run the search, and/or 4) add quotation marks around the key search terms, i.e. "key search term".

    • What large language models are used by PAIPERS?

      Different large language models perform better at different tasks. As such, we use the most appropriate models depending on the task.

    • Who uses PAIPERS?

      PAIPERS is for anyone who needs to develop written content. This includes, but is not limited to students, professionals, and academics.

    • Does PAIPERS have usage limits?

      There are input and output usage limits, though it is very unlikely that you will reach these for typical use cases. In the unlikely event that you do reach these limits, you will have the option to buy more credit/tokens.
